Beating the Heat
We thought the "hottest" part of the summer was behind us here in Rexburg, Idaho, but this week is a week of lower to mid nineties. I know, I know...most of the family in Alabama think we're whimps, but being six months pregnant and no air conditioner...IT'S HOT!!! Let's just say I have a routine of putting my feet in cold water to lower my body temp.
Daniel and I found this cool and free swimming spot in a nearby town (St. Anthony). It's only a ten minute drive and its fresh water from the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. The current is strong in some parts, so (I) can't go out that far, but Daniel enjoys pushing the limits...needless to say. You can jump off a homemade diving board or go to their homemade sandbar, but it gets deep fast and also very very very cold. The water temp has to be around 60 degrees...maybe colder, but boy is it refreshing! Also, it takes off all the weight for me and I feel great.
I had been swimming with a friend at the University's indoor pool, but they closed it for two weeks, so this is our next best thing! No water park entries, no chlorine, just pure back woods Idahoan river fun! We plan on going there everyday till the weather cools off or when school starts back...which ever comes first. :)
P.S. Baby girl is kicking and doing well. Measuring on target and her heartbeat is 150bpm!
