Blessings and Missions

A huge perk of living in Kenai is that it is only 3 and a piece hours away from Daniel's family in Palmer and Anchorage. We love that!
This weekend was a special occasion on two parts, 1. Brennan, Daniel's cousin, is leaving to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be serving in Brazil for two years! Wow, we are so excited for him. Daniel and I both served missions for the Church and we know the awesomeness that comes from serving the Lord. Brennan is a champ and spoke in sacrament meeting during church on Sunday. It was such a privilege to hear him bear a powerful testimony and share his experiences with us, his family and friends. He is going to be a great missionary.
2. That gave us a great reason to finally give Lily a name and a blessing through the Church. It's not a baptism and it's not something that formal; just family and friends, and it can even be done in the home, with the permission from the proper authority in the Church. Daniel worked out all the details and he was able to bless Lily with his dad, uncles, and cousins. It was a beautiful experience. It was a blessing of good health and strong wisdom for Lily. She is so special and we love her so much. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be with his family.

Oh yeah, Daniel wanted to bless her naked ( don't ask) and I said she at least had to wear a diaper. Thanks to Grandma Madsen, we got a cute blanket for her too.
Always up for a cuddle.

The two star Bohmans.

Emily was working hard to get Lily to smile; Uncle Bill said, "You should be over here taking a picture."

But look what she gets in return. :)

A Nice Surprise

So, we went to bed Tuesday night pretty much following the same routine as every night. When we woke up at 7am the next morning, I figured Daniel was going to start getting ready for work. Instead, he was on the computer and listening to the news. Ok, not so unusual...But when I said, "Ah, Hun, you should just stay home today." He said, "Okay." I thought he was joking and I proceeded with our morning routine. After about 30 mins, I said, "Aren't you going to get ready for work?"
"Nope, I'm not going, remember."
"Yeah, right. You wont skip work unless there is some logical reason for it."
"Yeah, like what?"
"If you're sick, if you really need to cram for a final exam, if I'm sick..and that's stretching it."
"Or if the doctor isn't going to work today, so I don't have to either."
"What? You're really not going?"
" Surprise!"

What followed was a bunch of squeals from me and jumping up and down a few times. Then we had a fun relaxing day with Daniel. Ahhh, it was nice. Lily enjoyed it just as much. She loves it when Dad gets to be with her more.
One of her attempts at sitting up.

Gotta love that smile.

This was one of her miracle naps...2 hours!

Let's go for a walk!

Daniel insists on sporting the shorts since it's April and 40 degrees.

Despite the clouds, a nice Alaskan sunset.

"My bubbles!"

Ok, so I'm going to write about our Friday night family bath experience, but don't worry, I'm not going to go in to explicit details or anything...just the funny stuff :)

Our date nights are on Fridays and when Lily came into the picture it would end up being a quick run through the drive-thru and a movie at home. We decided, uh uh, that ain't gonna work, so we normally spend it at home making home-made pizza or cal zones with yummy roots beer and a good movie or audio book. We decided we would do a family bath in our awesome 2 man jacuzzi and watch a movie at the same time! Ha! genius idea...it was Daniel's of course. :)

Lily loves bath time and this time she was extra happy. She played in the water, relaxed and even watched a bit of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" with us, but we soon discovered the source to all that happiness. She decided to take a big ole poop right on Daniel. Yep, it was gross. Luckily we were in a bath and we could see all the poop floating around. Hahaha. It was so funny and Lily laughed with us. It was a date night to remember!

We put our computer on the counter for those who were worried that we could have electrocuted ourselves.
My Peeps! Why can't I eat them?

Roses from Daniel

Did I mention she loves her swing?

Lily, the Rolling wonder!

I love the snuggles, the hugs, the laughter, and the wonderful smile of our little Lillian. I know everyday she continues to grow and develop, but I didn't see this coming so soon!

I am amazed at her progress. The first time this occurred was last week; I placed her on her back on the play mat and went to the bathroom to put my contacts in. When I came out she was making her usual noises and I saw that she was on her tummy. I thought, "That's not how I left you" and then placed her on her back again. To my surprise, this is what happened. She's a darling little girl!
